In the upcoming January transfer window, Hansi Flick, manager of Barcelona, is eager to get Finn Jeltsch, a player coveted by Real Madrid, from Stuttgart.
Flick has reportedly settled on Jeltsch as his top priority and will face competition from Real Madrid to sign the defender, according to Diario SPORT.
Flick is looking to strengthen his center defender options after Andreas Christensen’s injury.
Injuries to Eric Garcia and Jules Kounde occurred in the match against Real Betis, while Gerard Martin has not performed up to previous season’s standards.
Stuttgart reportedly values Jeltsch at over €50 million, but whether or not Barcelona ends up signing the German is still up in the air.
One of Germany’s footballing bright spots is the 20-year-old, who was called up to the national squad in September.
