Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has mandated that every state employees have a garden in which they would grow food.
This was revealed by Uzodimma at the state’s Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) general conference, where he acknowledged that Nigerians face challenges.
The governor stated: “We used to have gardens when we were kids. “So, as we struggle to do other scientific things that will boost the economy, what you are being handed today, if you look at the size, is like a mustard seed. As a young man, my mother never goes to any market to buy vegetables.
When the food is ready for consumption, she simply crosses behind the house, cuts vegetables, harvests tomatoes, and the food is ready for consumption.”
