The Nigeria Police Force is prepared to carry out the general elections of 2027, according to Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mr. Olatunji Disu.
While receiving a courtesy visit from a group representing the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for West Africa and the Sahel on Tuesday in Abuja, Disu made this promise.
The IGP assured the group headed by Dr. Leonardo Simao that the Nigeria Police Force had sufficient election preparations.
According to Disu, the group had a number of exercises with members of the Nigerian military, civil defence, customs, immigration, and DSS in the run-up to the election.
He added that the training covered topics such as how to ensure that all citizens, including those with impairments, have a voice in the electoral process.
Officers, in his opinion, are prepared to deal with people who have disabilities because they have received training to recognise them.
Everything is going well; we are not scared.
