The assaults took place on the evening of September 30 and first of October 2026, just before Nigeria celebrated its 66th anniversary of independence.

The news was greeted by the Forum with profound shock and grief, according to a statement released on Sunday by Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua, who is the Chairman of the NSF.

Tragically, three soldiers from the 232 Battalion in Garaha-Mojili, a forest guard, and innocent villagers were killed. He sent condolences to the families of those affected on behalf of senators from Northern Nigeria.

The governor extended his condolences to the people and administration of Adamawa State, extending special support to the villages hit by the recent flooding in Mayo Ladde, Gaya-Dlang, Boima, Guyaku, Garkida, Bangna, Mubang, Zah, Bitirhuya, Kwapre, and Mayo Ladde.

The attacks were described by Yar’Adua as an assault on Adamawa, the North, and Nigeria overall, and they targeted the 226 Battalion in Garkida and the 232 Battalion in Garaha.

The good people of Adamawa State have the support of the Northern Senators Forum. “You will not be abandoned to terrorists by our collective efforts,” he declared.

The attacks were denounced by the Forum as courageous, and they urged the Federal Government and Defence Headquarters to drastically increase security in the Kopre-Sambisa corridor.
