Prior to matches against Liverpool and Manchester United, Xabi Alonso confirms significant injury blow

Xabi Alonso, manager of Chelsea, has announced that Joao Pedro would miss a couple of weeks with an injury.

Prior to their Carabao Cup match against Liverpool, Alonso spoke with the media.

Pedro did not play in last weekend’s 2-0 Premier League loss to Tottenham Hotspur for the Blues.

Also sitting out Liverpool’s match is the Brazilian forward.

His return in time for Manchester United’s league match is highly unlikely.

Alonso announced that João will be out for a few weeks due to a thigh ailment.
