Oba Rasidi Ladoja, Olubadan of Ibadanland, has verified that the kidnaped NYSC recruits have been released.
The kidnappings occurred in the wee hours of Thursday morning.
The kidnappers targeted their journey from Ibadan to Bende, Abia State, where they were supposed to report to the NYSC camp on Wednesday.
The victims’ release was confirmed by the Olubadan on Wednesday evening. This information was divulged by the traditional ruler’s media aide, Adeola Oloko.
According to Oloko’s interview with Furucinovel, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State contacted the traditional ruler to tell him of the release.
“The abducted prospective members of NYSC have been released,” Oloko announced.
This was confirmed during a telephone discussion between the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, and Senator Hope Uzodinma, the governor of Imo State. The conversation took place around 5:00 pm on Wednesday.
