According to a statement released on Friday by SP Alfred Alabo, the State Police Public Relations Officer, the suspect was apprehended following the filing of a culpable homicide report at the Kaduna Vom Division on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

The statement states that during the initial search of the suspect’s residence, police officers found a fake gun and live ammunition.

Police released a statement accusing Davou of shooting the victim in the chest at their home in Haita Fwil Village, Vwang, Kogot, Jos South Local Government Area, Nigeria. The statement was made accessible to press.

He went on to say that the area’s Divisional Police Officer (DPO) was ordered by the Commissioner of Police to send his troops to the spot as soon as the complaint was received. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment, but unfortunately, she was later declared dead.

The suspect was subsequently arrested. “Additional weapons recovered from the suspect, making a total of three locally fabricated firearms and five cartridges,” said the crack detectives of the State Violent Crime Response Unit.

Police have sent the matter to the State Criminal Investigation Department, where they will conduct thorough investigations; after they have finished, the suspect will face charges in court, according to the spokeswoman.
