According to Dr. Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, an APC chieftain, President Bola Tinubu has formed a new artillery regiment and army battalion in Kano State.
In a statement shared with news organisations on Saturday, Kwankwaso extended his gratitude to Nuhu Ribadu, Abba Kabir Yusuf, Christopher Musa, Bello Matawalle, and the National Security Adviser, all of whom have played a part in enhancing security in the state of Kano.
In light of the increasing security concerns in Kano and the surrounding areas, he explained that the 24 Battalion was sent to Tudun Wada and the 311 Artillery Regiment was sent to Dambatta.
He asserts that the new military formations will enhance the capacity of the armed forces to combat violent crimes such as banditry and terrorism, which pose a threat to communities.
According to Kwankwaso, the development has boosted faith in the federal government’s security measures.
The safety of Kano and its inhabitants is something that President Tinubu has shown to be very important to him. In his statement, Kwankwaso emphasised that the development of these new military units shows the readiness of the federal government to safeguard citizens and their property.
His point was that Kano’s huge population and economic significance necessitated a robust security structure capable of swiftly responding to new dangers.
According to the APC head, the new military units will bolster the fight against crime and complement the current security systems.
The President’s efforts, he said, had demonstrated the federal government’s dedication to enhancing security, and he predicted that locals would be grateful.
Everyone in Kano will always be grateful to President Tinubu for all he has done for the state. Continuing to back his administration and its programs is how we will show our appreciation, he added.
In addition, Kwankwaso urged the people of Tudun Wada and Dambatta, among others, to help the troops out by giving them information that the authorities may use.
He emphasised that the new military formations’ effectiveness will rely on both the deployment of troops and the collaboration between security forces and local populations.
