This was revealed during a press conference by Hon. Auwal D. Sankara, the State Commissioner for Special Duties, who was in Dutse to mark the beginning of the distribution exercise.

He explained that the intervention was coordinated through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) with the goal of easing the suffering of impacted families and assisting them in re-establishing their means of subsistence.

He claims that the Federal Government’s special intervention program is helping around 700 disaster-affected households.

There were 500 25 kg bags of rice, 250 spaghetti boxes, 250 vegetable oil cartons, 250 nylon mats, 250 blankets, and 250 foam mattresses, according to Sankara.

Among the tools for self-determination, he mentioned 54 pumps, 48 grinders, 40 sewing machines, and 10 cargo tricycles.

According to the commissioner, this action was taken as part of a larger federal effort to help states recover from floods that occurred after the year 2025.

President Tinubu’s administration has shown its dedication to the welfare of underprivileged Nigerians, he said, and he praised President Tinubu for the gesture.

According to Sankara, hundreds of flood victims had received emergency aid from the Jigawa State Government, via the State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, in the immediate aftermath of the disaster.

Along with cash aid and other necessary food products, the state government handed more than 11,000 bags of rice, beans and maize, according to him.

He went on to say that impacted farmers were also given better seeds and other agricultural inputs so they could start producing again and increase their food security.

The commissioner stated that the state’s previous initiatives to aid victims and restore their livelihood would be bolstered by the additional federal participation.

He went on to say that the distribution was attended by representatives from security agencies, the Nigerian Red Cross, NEMA, SEMA, the EFCC, the ICPC, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
